About the customer
Founded in 1873 in Japan, Oji Holdings Corporation has approximately 26 thousand professionals and operates on 4 continents with more than 300 subsidiaries and manufacturing units, which produce numerous types of paper and related products, such as: special papers, printing and writing paper, newsprint paper, packaging paper, cellulose, standing out as one of the largest global producers in the sector.
The Japanese group took control of the special paper factory in September 2011, beginning its operations in the paper sector in Brazil. However, the Piracicaba plant began operations in 1953, producing paper from sugarcane bagasse cellulose.
In its history, the paper factory has collected some highlights and achieved the position of national leader in the special paper sector (thermal and carbonless).
Challenge
In November 2019, the Japanese group Oji Holdings Corporation announced a significant investment of 500 million reais in its factory in Piracicaba (SP). The objective was to expand the production capacity of special papers, with a main focus on thermal papers used as proof of financial transactions in commercial establishments.
Solution
In the context of continuous improvement, the company began a journey of digital transformation. ART IT became a strategic partner, leading initiatives to improve the customer portal and optimize existing internal systems. The project with Oji Papéis was completed in 2.5 months, with an emphasis on developing a responsive web application, providing a fluid experience on tablets and cell phones.
